Year End Wrap Up

Well here it is, December 13 2012. I can't believe its almost 2013. This year has had its ups and downs, mostly ups.

  • We bought our first house! It was a long process but we are happy with how it turned out. We had an amazing realtor who bent over backwards for us. We love our house, and our neighborhood.
  • I got in a car accident. Totalled our car, and injured my shoulder. We luckily got insurance money, and we bought a new/used car that we own. Its been nice, even though the check engine light likes to come on....
  • The day before the accident, we found out we were pregnant! I was 6.5 weeks. I am now 24 weeks, and we found out last month we are having a little boy! We are so excited. His name is Braxton Kale Jessop. He kicks like crazy, and I love it! Even two min. without feeling him kick, freaks me out, but I know he is there and healthy! I am due April 6th.
  • When I was 10 weeks, I had a subchronic tear. I passed a huge blood clot, and thought I miscarried. It was a scary moment. A few days later I went in for blood work and an ultrasound. They found that I was still pregnant! It was such a great surprise! It took a month to heal itself, but its all healed and the baby is still good.
  • In September, Brent found a new job. A better paying, better in the long run and a much better schedule. He no longer works for Discount Tire. He started work for Smart Automated Controls, putting in thermostats for HVAC in big buildings. Two of his classes for what he majored in was focused on controls. The only negative... No insurance. He doesn't have to work late, he has holidays off, and weekends off. Its been nice to see him more.
  • Not having insurance. We have applied for medicaid, but were denied. We have been looking at different options but right now havent found anything. Having the Dr. visits, then going to be paying for the delivery and hospital, those bills are adding up. Hopefully we qualify for the financial assistance program through the hospital.
  • Not having a job. In the middle of October I quit my job at Urban Wear. My amazing husband didn't want me working retail during the holidays being pregnant and working the crazy hours. So I have been at home. I have been trying to find different things to do to keep me entertained.
  • Gallbladder removal. In the past three weeks, there have been two nights where I have had really bad chest/back pain, so bad I can't sit, sleep, stand, nothing. Its seriously the worst pain I have ever been in. The first time it happened, we ended up going to the E.R. because the tylenol and heating pad the OBGYN told me to take wasn't working. So at 12:30 am, my loving husband took me. We got all the tests run and everything came back normal. They said if it happened again to get an ultra sound of my gallbladder. Well, it happend just a few nights ago. The pain lasted for three hours. Finally subsiding at 4:30 am. During the three hours my husband stayed up with me and tried to make me feel comfortable, even though he had to wake up to go to work at 5:30. I have an amazing husband. So called my Dr., told me to get an ultrasound of my gallbladder. Yesterday went in and got it done. Today they called back with the results, and I have to get my gallbladder removed. Said it was inflamed, with multiple stones. Awesome. So I called the surgeon and have an appointment on the 18th to see what he wants to do, either take it out now, or wait til after I deliver and just give me something to cope with it till then. So I will keep everyone updated.
  • We will be getting sealed in the next few months. We just finished our temple prep classes, and just need to get together with the Bishop and figure things out. We are really excited to be able to go through the Temple and get this wonderful ordiance done.
  • I think that about sums up the year. I hope you all have an amazing Holiday and New Year. Lets remember what really matters this season, and not get all caught up in the worldly aspects. I'm so grateful to have the life I have. Ya, it may be a struggle and sometimes not as fun, but I have an amazing family, great friends and the Gospel. I wouldn't trade my life for anyone's, or not have the trials I have had, because it has made me stronger and realize I can get through it. Love you all!
