Laughed so hard I peed my pants....... sorta.

Well technically it just felt like it. But I'll get to that in a min.

Friday, March 29th, started off just like any other day. Woke up, got dressed, ate a little something, then headed out to hang out with my sisters. Went to a Dr. appointment, walked around a few places, ate lunch, visited my dad, then headed home. When I got home, I was only home for a short while. When Brent got home we decided that we should go to our friends Improv show. So we headed out. Went to his parents for a min, got some food then went to the show. They had a really good turn out, and a hilarious show. Afterwards, our friends were going to go out to eat, so we joined them. We ended up at a place in Sugar House and it was just after 10pm. We were all seated, all 17 of us. I was looking at the menu, but nothing sounded good, and I also began to feel a little sick. Brent had just ordered a drink, and I asked him if we could leave because I didn't feel very good. He told the waiter we were leaving and that he needed to pay for his drink, the waiter told us not to worry about it, so we started saying our goodbyes. As I was standing up, a sudden gush of water came rushing out of me. I told my friend "I'm pretty sure my water just broke" and she said, "Does Brent know?!" So I proceeded to tell Brent, who in turn grabbed my hand and pulled me to the door. As we were leaving, all our friends were cheering and one even shouted, "We're having a baby!!"

Rushing to the car, well trying to as much as I could being 9 months pregnant and uncontrollably leaking, people were looking at me pretty funny...... Luckily we had the carseat and hospital bag already in the car, because we had to drive from Sugar House to Riverton. We were going 85 the whole way and only hit one red light, pretty lucky. We get to the hospital and Brent finds the closest parking spot he could. As I get out of the car, it felt like Niagara Falls, no joke. I wobbled slowly to the door of the hospital, Brent got me a wheelchair, and we headed up the elevator to floor 3, labor and delivery. It finally hit me at this point, I'm going to have my baby boy! Finally! The only thing I was nervous about was getting the epidural. As Brent was getting me checked in, one of the nurses wheeled me into our room. I stood up and Niagara Falls happened again... and just kept going. The nurse asked if I just wanted to stand in the tub, and I could shower off a little bit. It was the craziest feeling, not being able to control it. I just gushed and gushed. I was all cleaned up and got to relax.

I got all hooked up to the IV and the fetal monitor and then the contractions really started coming on strong. Definitely not the funnest feeling in the world. When they first checked me I was a 3, so I had a bit to go. Our nurses were awesome. Although one said that IV's hurt worse than the epidural... Bah! I would take an IV any day.... Time was going a lot faster than I thought it would ( Thank Goodness!). We had been there for about 2 hours and I wanted the epidural. I wanted to make sure that when the contractions got super intense I wouldn't be able to feel them. Good thinking on my part. After that was all done and my legs started to feel like jello, I tried getting some rest, but it didn't really work out. I was all hyped up and ready to meet this little boy! Brent on the other hand got a good nap in.  By the time I knew it, it was 8:00am and I was fully dilated. Now I just had to wait for him to drop more. It took 45 min for him to drop to +3 and I was ready to push. The nurse and Brent were my coaches, it was really relaxing and nice just having those two in the room. And what good coaches they were. The best was having my nurse forget about my leg on the stirrups, and turn around for a min and then my leg rolls off and bounces on the bed. I pushed for about 30 min, and he was crowned. The nurse went to get the Dr.( who had been napping and had just barely woken up just in time to come deliver Braxton). Another 15 min and Braxton Kale Jessop arrived! He joined our family at 9:49am, 6 lbs. 8 oz., 19 in. long.  I couldn't help but cry. To see this little miracle, who we created, finally join our family. After having the scare at 10 weeks when I thought I had had a miscarriage, finding out he had a two vessel cord instead of a three(which puts them more at risk for birth defects), and seeing that he was healthy, and perfect. I will never forget how amazing it was.And how much love you can have for a little baby. I'm also proud of Brent, he watched the whole thing and didn't pass out! And how amazing he was during the whole thing. He is so wonderful, and Braxton and I are so lucky to have him in our lives.
Just waitin'......................

Right after he was born, pretty surreal.

After a crying episode...

Going Home!

The labor wasn't bad, the delivery went really well... The recovery(especially after tearing all the way and having to get stitched up) was THE worst. I couldn't move for a solid week. Sitting down was pointless because of how much pain it caused. So I didn't. I laid on my side. Witch hazel pads were my life saver. I was really glad Brent had that first whole week off, because I couldn't move. After all this I asked Brent when he wanted to have another baby :) Now that I have gone through it all, I could do it again. But probably in a few years.

I'm so grateful to have such a perfect, healthy little boy. He brings so much joy to us. We are excited that in a few weeks we will be sealed as a family in the temple, and then will have his blessing. After 3 years, being sealed to my best friend and eternal companion, is something I have been waiting for, and now we get to share it with our precious little boy. Nothing could be better. :)
